The Metrology and Tomography Laboratory of Röchling Automotive located in Laives is part of the Quality area. It is active both for Italian and foreign production sites, as well as the R&D units and provides its support also to the Medical and Industrial divisions of the Group. Its main services consist of dimensional and tomographic analyses, comparisons between nominal and real 3D models, process capability statistical studies and reverse engineering. The laboratory focuses on non-destructive dimensional checks and acquisition of complex geometries using high precision 3D measurement systems (tactile, contact-less, also portable). Using an X-ray tomographic system, the product’s internal structure, thicknesses and inaccessible geometries of assembled pieces are analyzed. Depending of their shape, objects of sizes from mmrange to over 2 m can be analyzed. Its staff is Aukom 1 certified and in under training for Aukom 2.
