Company

Micro Photon Devices (MPD) is a dynamic production and engineering company founded in 2004 as a spin-off of the Milan Politecnico and Microgate GmbH. The aim was to further develop the specialist knowledge of the research group headed by Prof. Cova in the area of semiconductor single photon sensors (detectors). The entire development process for the sensors and associated electronics takes place within the company, with a wide range of products developed in this specific sector thanks to this know-how.

• Single photon (single and array sensors) for the visible and infrared wavelength range based upon SPAD technology • 3D SPAD camera The products are used in various areas, e.g. fluorescence analysis (biomedicine, materials science), quantum science, LIDAR.
