Company

The Center for Sensing Solutions, Eurac Research, is a competence center that leverages innovative sensor and sensing technologies to address real world challenges. Our main domains of expertise are agrifood, environment, and craftsmanship, where we provide smart solutions based on data collection, analysis, and utilization. We also transfer our knowledge and skills to other areas, such as mountain safety and natural hazards monitoring, with field-tested results. We adopt a data-driven approach that follows the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) and uses mostly open-source technologies. We offer customized solutions for research and industry, ranging from sensor deployment to web applications or services that exploit the collected data. Starting from a specific problem, the Center helps companies understand which data can contribute to solving it, how to collect them, and how to make them usable by transferring knowledge and information to them.

Products and services

The Center operates a research infrastructure to manage the data cycle, consisting of a distributed and interoperable data platform (Environmental Data Platform) and of the Sensors Systems Technologies laboratory. We offer R&D services as follows: Data: • organization, harmonization, analysis tools, access • Development of spatial and temporal databases • Development of web Applications, for data visualization, analytic and sharing • RESTful APIs development and web services according to OGC standards; Sensing Technology: • Conditioning and characterization of sensors • Electronic and optical measurement systems for environmental applications • Development, testing, verification, and validation of prototypes and IoT applications
